JEN CARRUTH
MSW, SWLC
You have within you everything you need to create the life you long for.
The wounds we sustain throughout our lives – particularly within the context of our closest relationships – give rise to patterns that can obscure this basic truth. The conscious and unconscious narratives we form about ourselves and the world around us are often self-limiting and lead to a variety of functional, emotional, and relational challenges.
The good news is that the unique challenges you face are the keys to your growth. Your problems are the themselves the path.
You are not broken or inadequate, and you are not alone.
My most important job is to act as your witness and champion. My aim in our relationship is for you to feel seen, heard, known, and empowered. Utilizing a strengths-based approach, I help you explore your inner world and construct a framework for making sense of what you find there. We will work to deepen self-awareness, cultivate insight, develop practical skills, and integrate past traumas and emotional wounds. Together we can shine light into the dark places to help you regain or increase a sense of wellbeing and personal agency in your life.
My areas of clinical interest include:
trauma
grief and loss
recovery from high-demand groups and toxic relationships
childhood bereavement
maternal mental health
anxiety
depression
family conflict.
I have a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University and a Master of Social Work with a trauma concentration from Widener University. I am currently working toward full clinical licensure under the supervision of Rachael Dunkel, MS, MCPC, LAC, NBCC and Kory Ann Rogers, MS, LCPC, ACLC.
